Raubein mit Humor..
Roughneck with a sense of Humour
- The little different Hollywood Star shows his charming side -
Russell Crowe is not a typical star. He's not as pretty as Brad Pitt or George Clooney - and least of all tamed. Although making some of the biggest Hollywood movies like "Gladiator", "ABM" and "MC", off the stage the 42 year old is not really an accessible companion. He attracted attention by rude breakouts and even had to show up in Court for throwing a telephone at a hotel employee.
His friend and director Ridley Scott describes Crowe as a cheerful, kind and above all humorous person, which can be experienced on the big screen for the first time.
In "AGY" the raw australian bloke is shown in his first born-and-bred comedy playing an unconscionably broker, finding himself and his past in France.
Russell Crowe was eager to do another project with Ridley Scott, the director of "Gladiator" - and "AGY" was the first one he was fascinated of.
How ever, the 42 year old acquired a taste for it and could imagine doing another comedy soon, if "AGY" is a success. "May be, if many people go watch this movie, Ridley and I join forces again and have a second 'good year' in the Provence."
And what about a second "Gladiator"? They talked a lot about this, but until now concrete plans failed because of one essential fact: "My character died at the end of the film"; says Crowe, adding with a wink "but something like that shouldn't put us back.

Russell Crowe's a softy, says Denzel
Denzel Washington says Russell Crowe is a big "softy".
There were fears the two strong-willed actors would clash on the set of the recently completed film, American Gangster, but Washington said Crowe did not live up to his infamous reputation.
"Russell Crowe is cool. He's a good guy," Washington told AAP in an interview in Los Angeles.
"He's intense, but he's a sweetheart. He's a softy."
American Gangster, a crime drama set in 1970s New York and directed by Ridley Scott, is scheduled for release in November and will likely have Washington and Crowe in line for Oscars.
Washington's latest film, the thriller Deja Vu, which opened in Australian cinemas on Thursday, was directed by Scott's younger brother, Tony, whose credits include Top Gun, Crimson Tide and Man on Fire.
"I don't know if anyone else has starred in two separate movies with two brothers directing in the one year," Washington said.
In Deja Vu, set in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, Washington plays a US government agent investigating a terrorist attack on a ferry packed with US Navy personnel.
The film was the first to be shot in the devastated city after the hurricane.
"After Katrina, we looked at filming in Seattle and Miami, but Tony was really keen for us to do it in New Orleans," Washington said.
"The people of New Orleans wanted us there.
"They were looking to get industry back to the city.
"So, we were the first film and spent tens of millions of dollars, hired locals and stayed in the hotels.
"So, it was good to be a part of helping the city get back on its feet."(yahoonews.au)

Aussie stars roll out for G'day USA ball
Bindi Irwin shared the red carpet with Cate Blanchett, Russell Crowe was fashionably late and there was a taste of Kazakhstan at the glamorous G'Day USA Penfolds Icon Ball in Los Angeles. More than 1200 celebrities, business leaders, politicians and star-spotting Aussie commoners came together at the black-tie event, which has become one of LA's hottest tickets. With seats selling for up to $US1000 ($1300) each, the A-list guests included Sacha Baron Cohen, better known as Borat, John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John and Peter Fonda. Cohen skipped the red carpet, but later joined his girlfriend, Australian actress Isla Fisher for the festivities. The event was held at LA's Hyatt Regency Century City Plaza hotel to honour Crowe, Naomi Watts and the late Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. Crowe, who won the best actor Oscar for Gladiator in 2001, was presented with an excellence in entertainment award while Watts, a best actress Oscar nominee in 2003 for 21 Grams, was honoured with an excellence in film award. Irwin, killed by a stingray in September last year, was treated to a special tribute, including an emotional video presentation by his wife Terri and eight-year-old daughter, Bindi. Travolta introduced the video presentation. Crowe, also a friend of the Crocodile Hunter, spoke fondly of his khaki clad pal, who in the previous three G'Day balls flew over from Australia Zoo in Queensland to be a guest. Crowe and Irwin were hoping to meet up at this year's ball. "It was only a small time ago we were planning on being here together and getting up to a bit of mischief," Crowe, who was the last to arrive on the red carpet, said. Guests snacked on a four-course feast by Sydney celebrity chef Neil Perry, who flew in the ingredients, including wild tiger prawns, yabby and grain fed beef, from Australia. The crowd was entertained by Australian rock duo, the Veronicas, as well as the Qantas choir. The G'Day festival is a Federal Government-sponsored event to promote Australian business, entertainment, arts, food and wine in the US.(The Sunday Morning Herald AU)

The blog's path it's the most practical and easiest way right now to help Brazilian and Portuguese fans in Croweland with something in Portuguese language.
